What are eco-fees?

As stipulated in its specifications, the eco-organisation contributes towards: 

  • Financially supporting industrial sorting operators by enabling them to continue and develop their activities and to increase their CHF recycling capacities. 

  • Encourage local authorities to raise public awareness of the selective sorting of CHF, by supporting their communication actions and by making a detailed map of self-deposit banks available on their public websites. 

  • Participate in the development of innovative and viable business opportunities and the improvement of current process performance by contributing financially to the Innovation Challenge projects selected each year. 

  • Develop measurement and analysis tools to provide an overview of the sector and its future prospects. 

  • Accompany the Textile Industry on the road to the circular economy.

How is the eco-contribution calculated?

Every year the eco-organization determines its financing needs and sets the contribution to be called for the following year with its board of directors.

Your 2023 eco-contribution is calculated as follows: 

  • Amount of eco-contribution* (simplified** or detailed scale)

  • Administrative fees: 30€

  • ADEME fee: 4.114€ (including repair and reuse funds)

* including repair and reuse funds

** The simplified scale is an option available to companies that declare volumes of less than 5,000 items/ year and that d not declare products eligible for eco-modulations.

Schedule of the 2023 declaration

The payment of the eco-contributions (year N) is done on the basis of a forecast of the volumes put on the market (year N), established by Refashion. In 2023, the estimate of the marketings is equal to the volumes declared for 2022. The adjustment of the actual quantities marketed in 2023 will be done in the first quarter of 2024. 

In 2023, the reporting timeline is as follows: 

  • From January 16 to February 15: Online declaration of volumes marketed in 2022

  • From January 16 to March 31: Invoicing of the call for eco-contributions for 2023 volumes

  • Any invoicing made after March 31st, 2023 will be increased by penalties as defined in the contract and must be made without further delay

  • The declaration of products eligible for eco-modulations is now separate from the declaration of eco-contributions. To learn more, click here
